I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.
Many people are familiar with verse 13. It is written on the back of cars, on coffee mugs, and on t-shirts. However, so much context lies in the verse before it. While in prison, the apostle Paul gave us the key to being content amidst life struggles.
Christ
As Paul could attest, life is much like a rollercoaster. Our surroundings and situations may take us up and down. However, the secret to joy and contentment is the understanding that Christ's strength is greater than any adversity that will come our way. As you embark on your week, worry not about what may lie ahead. Have comfort in knowing that you can make it through all things through Christ that gives you strength!
